Nils Schramm - Senior Technical Advisor

Dr. Nils Schramm is a Senior Research Scientist at the Research Center Juelich, Germany where he heads a group dedicated to small-animal imaging. His main area of expertise is SPECT, PET and CT image reconstruction, dedicated system simulation and design of tomographic imaging systems. He is the inventor of the multiplexing multi-pinhole SPECT technology used in Bioscan's NanoSPECT/CT scanner, has filed several patents related to small-animal SPECT and has authored or co-authored numerous papers in medical physics and imaging instrumentation.  Dr. Schramm received his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Goettingen, Germany.

Mark Pacala - Senior Advisor

Mr. Mark L. Pacala is a Senior Advisor at Oak Hill Capital Partners where he focuses on the healthcare sector.  Prior to joining Oak Hill Capital Partners, Mr. Pacala was a Managing Director at Essex Woodlands Health Ventures where he was responsible for overseeing the activities of Essex Woodlands Health Ventures VII.  He began his career as a banker in 1977 at Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co. and transitioned to strategic planning in healthcare at Booz, Allen, and Hamilton. Mr. Pacala served as a Director of Corporate Planning and Vice President of Operations at Marriott Corporation from 1984 to 1989, where he founded the Fairfield Inns division. From 1989 to 1994, he was a Senior Vice President and General Manager at Walt Disney Company, where he founded the Disney Vacation Club. Afterwards, in 1994, Mr. Pacala served as the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Forum Group. He currently serves as a director of Millennium Pharmacy Systems, United Orthopedic Group and Touchstone Health Partnership.  Mr. Pacala holds a B.A. from Hamilton College where he graduated, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, where he graduated with distinction.
